International Conclave on Antimicrobial Resistance (ICAFA 2023) Commences at SRM University-AP

SRM University-AP proudly inaugurated the highly anticipated two-day International Conclave on Antimicrobial Resistance and Future of Antibiotics (ICAFA 2023) on November 08, 2023. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Prof. Maarten Van Dongen, AMR Insights, The Netherlands; Prof. (Dr) Indrani Karunasagar, R&D Director, NITTE, Deemed to be University; Prof. Manoj K Arora Vice Chancellor, Dr R Premkumar, Registrar, Prof. Ranjit Thapa, Dean-Research; Prof. Jayaseelan Murugaiyan, Associate Dean in-charge (School of Engineering and Sciences)& Head of Biological Sciences Department, SRM University-AP and manyrenowned researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, aimed to shed light on the critical issue of antimicrobial resistance and foster collaborative efforts towards its mitigation.

Prof. Manoj K Arora delivered an inspiring opening speech highlighting the university’s commitment to promoting innovation and research that can drive positive change in society. He stated that by hosting ICAFA 2023, SRM University-AP aims to create a platform for fruitful discussions, research collaborations, and policy recommendations to combat this global health crisis. An MoU was signed between SRM University-AP and AMR Insights and NITTE, Deemed to be University facilitating research collaborations to combat antimicrobial resistance.
